Using the latest advances in technology Mainstar delivers a comprehensive range of powerful utility monitoring and contol solutions to suit every need.

Software

At the heart of Mainstar is the utility monitoring and control software that communicates with and controls the Mainstar system.

Mains.VB6™ is the single user utility monitoring and control software and Mains.NET™ is an upgrade path that provides a netork solution for more than one input into the Mainstar system such as in large leisure and commercial facilities. Mains.VB6™ and Mains.NET™ also enables remote communication with the Mainstar system from anywhere in the world.

Routing

The Mainstar Router is the communication interface between the Mainstar software and the peripheral components of the Mainstar utility monitoring and control system. It interfaces with the Mainstar software via twisted pair cable and with the remotely located Mainstar Electronic Control Units via state of the art mains signaling technology.

Electronic Control

The Mainstar Electronic Control Unit is used to locally manage the monitored and controlled utility user points such as electricity sockets. It receives command and control data from the Mainstar software and is used for the gathering of monitoring and status data to be sent back via mains signaling to the Mainstar Router and in turn onto the Mainstar software.

End users use a unique PIN code via a keypad or a card system to interact with the Mainstar Electronic Control Unit . These allow customers to check their utility consumption and know they are only being billed for what they use.

Metering

The Mainstar 5(32)A kWh Meter is used for the monitoring of the controlled utility user point and communicates via direct wire to the Mainstar Electronic Control Unit. The Mainstar 5(32)A kWh Meters provide greater flexibility to the Mainstar system by being able to be located remotely from the Mainstar Electronic Control Unit.
